As the crazy months of December and November wrap up and the 2014 year comes to an end, you may find yourself with a non-negotiable will to sit back.

You did it! You planned, you organised, you cooked, you wrote, you wrapped, you decorated, you shopped, you hosted, you visited, you travelled, you ate, you drank, you laughed.

You gave as you always do.

Now it is all coming to an end.

And although you may not notice yet, the days are already getting longer.

Light is expanding.

And you see the calm, stillness of January coming.

The routine.

But before we step into that routine again, hear the short days and long nights beckoning you to go inwards.

Inviting you to take some moments to reflect.

Moments to look around and observe.

Observe how much the children have grown.

Observe your loved ones and where they find themselves.

And Mom, once you have done that, then let me do my job and advocate for you to

Find some me time. Some quiet time.

Take time and energy to look inside and observe yourSELF.

  • What have you learned this year?
  • What has changed in your life?
  • What is your relationship with YOU like, Mom?

Dig deep and explore what 2014 has offered you.

Accept the invitation of this 52nd week of 2014 as one where you can take a calm walk home through the lit trees and find yourSELF again.

A time to go home.

A time to rest and reflect.

Grieve the losses.

Celebrate the growth.

List the lessons learned.

Relish all there is to be grateful for.

Corporations and businesses do their annual review every year. It gives them a strong foundation to plan the next year consciously and strategically.

You run a home, you manage a family, and if you are reading this, you likely grow yourself along the way, too.

So go on, take the time to do your own annual review.

Understand where you are at, what brought you there.

And where you want to go in 2015 will organically emerge (but for more on that stay connected…my January articles will offer tools and strategies to support you on identifying your 2015 intentions and designing the year you deserve!)
